D2N2 (Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire) Growth Hub is excited to announce that we have two vacancies for experienced Business Advisers. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals that have proven knowledge and experience of helping to drive performance improvement and growth within small to medium (SME) businesses. The role will also involve identifying and accessing a range of public and private business support solutions to add value to the client.

The adviser will provide quality in-depth business diagnosis, information and support in respect of improving business performance. A customer-centric and client focused approach is crucial as the position will focus on helping businesses to understand and access the most appropriate solutions to address key issues which will ultimately lead to business growth.

The successful applicant will be a self-motivated professional; a good team player with proven problem-solving skills and an ability to think innovatively. Excellent communication, presentation and networking skills and an ability to work to deadlines and meet targets are also essential for this role.

Essential Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively through a variety of media.
• Ability to be able to adapt their approach to the needs and perspective of individual businesses.
• Self-motivated, pro-active independent worker capable of organising and prioritising individual workload and delivering to tight deadlines.
• Competent client project manager with experience of managing financial projects at varying levels of complexity.
• Ability to accurately develop, analyse and interpret financial information
• Strong IT skills and be familiar with Microsoft Windows packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc)


• At least degree level business education, or degree level qualification with a Management body or the relevant business experience to match those.
• A thorough understanding of business needs, motivations and critical success factors.
• Financial acumen necessary to interpret financial reports and forecasts.
• A detailed knowledge of the processes involved in funding early stage businesses including an assessment of eligibility criteria, commercial suitability and the processes involved in accessing funding.
• Commercial awareness
