Nottingham Charity lead the way with Safe Urban Driver Training!

RideWise, who are a part of a Nottingham based green transport charity, are a leading provider for Safe Urban Driver training in England. They provide practical cycling awareness sessions for professional drivers across the country to help reduce the number of incidents on the roads and to improve road safety.

The charity is excited to announce the expansion to their Safe Urban Driver training services across the whole of England, in a new partnership with Avanti Cycle Training and Cycle Instructors.

The new partnership means that together they can provide top class cycle training across the country, including central London – enabling them to make the roads safer for everyone.

RideWise Head Instructor, Ian Hutchinson said, ‘we’re delighted to be partnering with Avanti Cycle Training and Cycling Instructors to provide this service, which means we can provide top quality training across the breadth of the country. Our charity works hard to improve road safety, increase driver awareness of vulnerable road users and supports safe road spaces for all users. This partnership will take our services and enable us to reach a wider audience. We are delighted to be moving forward with our new partners.’

Safe Urban Driver Training is an essential course for all professional drivers. The course demonstrates why cyclists ride where they do on the roads and how drivers can reduce the possibility of accidents on the road. The course includes a classroom session and a practical on road module to get a cyclist’s view of the road, which is accompanied by a Cycle Instructor. In total, the training lasts for 7 hours and RideWise provide all the bikes and equipment needed for all safe learning.

Safe Urban Driver Training enables mutual understanding across all road users, to make cycling and driving safer, improve general road safety and to reduce accidents involving vulnerable users.

Sessions are led by highly experienced and qualified cycle instructors that equip drivers with the knowledge, skills and techniques to safely deal with the challenge of sharing space in the urban environment.

This training can also be used by professional drivers as part of their formal CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) programmes and could help reduce insurance premiums.
