New Chief Executive Officer appointed for D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership

A new Chief Executive Officer has been appointed for the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership.

Matthew Wheatley, formerly the D2N2 LEP’s Growth Plan Manager, has been appointed Chief Executive of the LEP with immediate effect. Matt has been with the LEP since 2011 (D2N2 was established in 2010), working with its stakeholders and partner organisations, and has extensive knowledge of D2N2’s work and activities.

His appointment follows the departure of his predecessor David Ralph, who stepped down as D2N2 Chief Executive just before Christmas (2017), after almost five years in the CEO role.

Matt said today: “D2N2 is in a very strong position, helping to lead the economic and business strategy for a region with an impressive track record in creating new private sector jobs; but we are always looking to improve.

“We will be reviewing the LEP’s future structure and strategies, and have already begun this process regarding our overall Strategic Economic Plan, but as we enter a New Year it is very much business as usual for D2N2’s programmes and activities.”
