Tidyco gains international recognition

Derby-based Tidyco, a supplier of hydraulic and pneumatic products to the UK rail industry for over 40 years, scoops an Award for Excellence in International Trade.

Tidyco was recognised at the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce Derbyshire 2018 Business Awards for its commitment towards global expansion. Held on the 7th September 2018 at Pride Park Stadium, Tidyco was successful in securing a win within the Excellence in International Trade category.

The company has enjoyed considerable export success via a sophisticated and secure online trading store whereby it has witnessed an enviable percentage growth in international sales over a measured comparative period.

Furthermore, Tidyco has recently developed a China specific digital environment as well as integrating an Alipay payment system within the online platform. The CN site has subsequently been indexed upon the Chinese Baidu search engine.

Head of Marketing for Tidyco and Member of the Board of Directors for Rail Forum Midlands, Barry Aldridge comments:

“We are all completely thrilled with the win and appreciate the recognition from East Midlands Chamber of Commerce regarding on-going international endeavours.”

Aldridge continues; “Digital application is an essential ingredient regarding global trade but; of equal importance is a need to engage with people and organisations capable of supporting SME export strategies.

Assistance gained from the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce, Marketing Derby and DIT has been pivotal in helping the business to succeed in its international ambitions. There is still a great deal of work to be done whereby stakeholders will be an essential partnership in Tidyco’s continuing journey.”

When quizzed by television presenter Sameena Ali-Khan at the ceremony, James Tidy Managing Director for Tidyco replied:

“It is beneficial to be mindful that when considering international trade as an additional route to market, be prepared to face some tough challenges.

Tidy summarised; “However, the end results are definitely worth the hard work.”

Tidyco was also successful in reaching Finalist stage for Commitment to People Development, Business Improvement through Technology, Small Business of the Year as well as Manufacturer of the Year 2018.

The company congratulates all finalists and winners for their respective successes.

Aldridge concludes; “A great deal of time and effort goes into preparing submissions and participating in latter interviews so to reach finalist stage alone is always an amazing achievement for all involved.”
