The programme is looking for SMEs with international ambition and looking to raise £500k plus of investment. If successful, companies will receive the support and training required before providing a platform to pitch to a prestigious panel of investors, and in turn realise their businesses growth ambitions.
The D2N2 Growth Hub and LEP is committed to helping local businesses access the finance needed to promote growth from early stage. The East Midlands stills lags behind in attracting alternative private sector investment into our SMEs, so turning the dial on increasing the levels of equity and debt finance remains a key component of achieving our growth ambitions. Frank Horsley, D2N2 Head of Business and Innovation, said: “We are committed to working with British Business Bank and local partners to improve access to finance across the region. Grants alone won’t make the shift we need and the continuing success of the Midlands Engine Investment Fund demonstrates that we have the businesses with the ambition to grow.
“We need to make D2N2 a region that excites investors and Pitchfest is an excellent opportunity for our high growth companies to demonstrate their potential with the support needed to open up new channels of finance to meet their ambitions”.
