The Bank of England has announced that the old paper £10 notes, featuring naturalist Charles Darwin, will cease to be legal tender at 11.59pm on 1 March 2018.

Its days have been numbered since the new polymer note, depicting author Jane Austen, entered circulation in September.

Anyone with old paper notes after the cut-off date will still be able to change them at banks.
