Free public sector procurement guidance for SMEs

Posted on September 1st, 2017

Smaller businesses are being offered free guidance on how to win public sector contracts.

Firms across north Nottinghamshire will, for the first time, be able to take part in one of the East Midlands Chamber’s public procurement seminars.

The aim of the seminar is to advise smaller companies about the opportunities available and clarify the procedures for applying for them.

The seminar is being delivered in conjunction with Ashfield, Bassetlaw and Mansfield District Councils 2020, the NHS and Nottinghamshire County Council.

“This free event focuses on public procurement processes, and seeks to enable more small organisations to feel empowered about tendering for locally-available work across North Nottinghamshire,” said Nick Chischniak, Representation Manager at East Midlands Chamber, who has helped put the two-hour event together.

He added: “It aims to clarify the process involved, as well as to showcase where the opportunities are to be found - including the support available - and to share some examples of best-practice.”

The event takes place at the Summit Centre, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, on 7 November, between 8am and 10am. Although free, demand is expected to be high and only 70 places are available so booking is essential.
