Creative design company paves the way to success in Worksop Turbine move

A forward-thinking creative design company has described new beginnings at the Worksop Turbine Innovation Centre as “the best move made at the perfect time”.
Managed by Oxford Innovation, on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council, Worksop Turbine is one of three locations which make up the Nottinghamshire Innovation Centres group.
Together they provide a base of space and support to more than 175 innovative and growing businesses.
Tom Haslam, Creative Director of OLO Design, launched his business in 2016, from a purpose-built garage at his Mum’s house in Kiveton Park, Sheffield.
He said: “After graduating from Bournemouth University with a product design degree, I began a job for a construction and engineering company in Sheffield. I loved the graphic design element of my degree and felt I was limited in this role.”
“I made the decision to launch the business in 2015 and moved from my mum’s garage to a virtual office in Sheffield before finding Worksop Turbine.”
In the sixth months since joining the Innovation Centre, Tom has gone from strength to strength, and already doubled his annual gross turnover.
He said: “It was the best move made at the perfect time. I now have a professional space to work from – my creative den.
“The support here cannot be faulted, from the networking opportunities to the one-on-one support discussing and setting growth targets. It’s all a recipe for success and I am looking forward to growing my business with the Worksop Turbine.”
