East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire) provide support and advice to businesses across the three counties from main offices in Derby, Nottingham, Leicester and Chesterfield along with a number of local delivery offices.

East Midlands Chamber is a partner in the People First Alliance; delivering the BIG Lottery’s Building Better Opportunities Fund in the D2N2 LEP area. This exciting programme aims to combat the root causes of poverty, promote social inclusion, challenge long-term unemployment and empower socially excluded people. This project is jointly funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund.

BUILDING BETTER OPPORTUNITIES STAKEHOLDER MANAGER (x4)

Salary: NJC Scale Point 42-44 (£36,937 – 38,789)
Full time, £36,937 - £38,789 per annum
Fixed term until 31st October 2019

1. Why the post exists

The Building Better Opportunities (BBO) Stakeholder Managers will contribute to the overall success of the BBO Programme in D2N2 by engaging and working collaboratively with a range of Public, Private and Third Sector stakeholders to ensure the Programme is effectively delivered across D2N2. Coordinated by East Midlands Chamber as the central host organisation, posts will be based within the four upper tier Local Authorities (City & County Councils), the BBO Stakeholder Managers will play a vital role in raising awareness of the programme, by promoting effective operational and strategic links and sharing of best practice, with the aim of embedding all three BBO Pathways across D2N2, to ensure a seamless service. Existing employees of participating local authorities are eligible to apply under secondment arrangements.

2. Ideally applicants will possess

  • Experience at management level, of successful stakeholder engagement and a thorough understanding of high level relationship management techniques
  • Proven ability to form effective working relationships with a range of senior Public, Private and Third Sector strategic and delivery stakeholders, within a complex partnership framework
  • Experience of influencing public policy and delivery models and shaping system change
  • The ability to work within a Social Inclusion and/or Employment & Skills related environment
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, in order to maximise the success of Programmes/Contracts
  • Experience and understanding of ESF and/or Big Lottery Funded Programmes and/or the protocols associated with Government funded provision
