Professional Kudos for East Midlands Based Head of Marketing

Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), the world’s leading professional marketing body; has awarded Barry Aldridge of Tidyco and member of the Board of Directors for Rail Forum Midlands with Fellowship status.

So as to be awarded Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM), applicants must prove Marketing Directorship status further bolstered by a high level CIM qualification as well as 10/15 years commercial experience. FCIM status is the highest possible membership offered by the organisation.

Barry comments; “It is a genuine honour to have been granted FCIM membership by the marketing professions most highly regarded international body. At University, I studied Visual Communication and spent an early career specialising in graphic design. It was whilst working at Leicester-based Office Depot that I became fascinated with the marketing profession.

In 2006, I returned to academia so as to obtain a Professional Diploma through the CIM. I have worked hard throughout my career whereby last year witnessed myself reaching finalist stage for two fiercely competitive and highly renowned award nominations for marketing of the year as well as sales and marketing campaigns of the year. Furthermore, rail industry recognition came in the form of being elected on to the Board of Directors for Rail Forum Midlands.”

The CIM believes that marketing is the critical factor in driving long term organisational performance whereby its mission is to create marketing advantage for the benefit of professionals, business and society.

Aldridge concludes; “In today’s commercial environment, marketing is more essential to business activity than ever. With the continuing digital evolution and differing methods of communication, it is imperative for marketing professionals to keep up to speed with technology.

Not only is FCIM accreditation fantastic for personal career development but also serves as positive representation for both Tidyco as well as Rail Forum Midlands. Additionally, I have submitted completed CPD points and personal reflections for this academic year whereby I am currently waiting to find out if I am to be successful in becoming fully chartered.”

According to the CIM, there are just 3,000 chartered marketers out of its 28,000 strong global membership.
