Industrial Strategy briefing paper now available

Brexit talks have moved on from the 'divorce settlement' and, next year, will focus more on the UK's future trading relationship with the EU.

Underpinning much of the work from a British perspective, and shaping international trade outside the EU after Brexit, will be the Government's Industrial Strategy White Paper, which was published in November.

The 255-page White Paper is the first formal stage in the process for taking the Green Paper consultation document - that first saw light of day in February 2017 - through Parliament.

It's important that business continues to contribute to the process and also understands what is included in the White Paper.

And to help, the Chamber has created a summarised briefing paper setting out the key points of the White Paper.

Chris Hobson, the Chamber's Director of Policy, said: “As the future trading relationship between the UK and EU becomes clearer through 2018, it’s important that businesses and those that represent them can understand and shape the key domestic policies that will help drive our economy for the long term.

"To this end, the Government’s recent Industrial Strategy White Paper is a really important document for business.

"Independently and alongside the British Chambers of Commerce, we will continue to work hard to ensure members views are heard and heeded as the process continues.”

The Industrial Strategy White Paper breifing document can be read here. It includes a link to the full document via the gov.uk website.
