Could Your Family Business be a Winner in the Midlands Family Business Awards 2017?

Now in their eighth year, the Midlands Family Business Awards, organised by Nottinghamshire family business The Wilson Organisation are now open for entries. They are the only initiative in the Midlands dedicated to celebrating and recognising the success, achievements and innovations of the region’s family run and owned businesses.
As accountants and tax advisers looking after family businesses Streets Chartered Accountants is delighted to once again be supporting the Awards as sponsors of the People’s Choice Award. Only launched last year the People’s Choice Award proved particularly popular with nominees as it provided the unique opportunity for customers, suppliers, staff and brand advocates alike to vote for them. In 2016 this award was won by Orderwise, the rapidly expanding Lincolnshire based company engaged in the provision of business management software.
Commenting on the firm’s continued support for the Awards, James Pinchbeck, Marketing Partner at Streets Chartered Accountants, said: “Family and Owner-Managed businesses represent a significant proportion of our client portfolio as well as businesses in the Midlands and nationwide. As such the contribution they make to the economy should not be underestimated, with their unique mix of passion for enterprise, innovation and commitment to service.
“These types of businesses are also an important part of the Midlands Engine economic output. Therefore it does seem fitting to recognise the business excellence of such enterprises, many of which fail to recognise or promote their own success. We also see the Awards as a key part of our commitment and support to sector which includes are family business orientated events organised as part of our Family Business Forum.”
The overall winner of the Family Business Awards in 2016 was Midlands-based John Pye Auctions. Other category winners and finalists included Northamptonshire-based Ideal Manufacturing, Avalon Cabins in Grantham, Grimsby-based Ramsden International, Woodhall Spa’s The Petwood Hotel and Systematic Print based in North Lincolnshire.
