One Hundred Toolboxes Delivered to Littleover Community School

Exciting, innovative, inclusive and dynamic, Tidyco has been supplying the rail rolling stock OEM and overhaul markets with hydraulic and pneumatic solutions for over forty years.

Tidyco launched the Tidyco Toolbox Challenge in January 2019, an initiative devised and conceptualised by Production Director Philip Mason to bring practical engineering back to the curriculum for secondary schools throughout Derby.

Eggleston Steel, GGS and Pugh & Sanders were instrumental in supporting the project supplying free materials and services to help get the project up and running. Tidyco’ s board of directors have agreed to sponsor Littleover Community School who have now subsequently received a batch of one hundred toolboxes on Friday 11th October 2019. This will support both male and female pupils learn practical engineering skills by manufacturing a metal toolbox, which they can take home when the box is completed.

Philip Mason concludes; “This has been an exciting project and is a subject which is very close to my heart. I would like to thank all participants for their support and praise Littleover Community School for agreeing to pilot the scheme.”

Philip plans to expand the Tidyco Toolbox Challenge to further schools within Derby and is keen to hear from local businesses who would consider long-term sponsorship of the Tidyco Toolbox Challenge in a school local to them.
