The Big House teams up with Google’s Digital Garage to deliver essential business skills

Free business support programme, The Big House, has teamed up with Google’s Digital Garage to offer two exclusive workshops in June and July. Let’s Get Digital and Seriously Good Social Skills are two free, half-day sessions which provide an opportunity to hone the digital marketing skills essential for taking any creative or digital business to the next stage.

Ronan Harris, Google UK & Ireland Managing Director, said:  "In the digital age, a basic understanding of how the online world works isn't just useful and when it comes to business, it’s essential.

“We are delighted to bring the Google Digital Garage to The Big House in Nottingham and ensure everyone has access to free digital skills workshops. We hope you'll pop in and get the skills you need to become more confident online, grow your career or business and maybe even launch the next big idea.”

The ‘Let’s Get Digital’ workshop on 14th June at Biocity will cover building a digital marketing plan, introducing digital advertising and understanding your business data. The session aims to take the guesswork out of digital marketing and help develop a practical and realistic digital strategy.

Session two, Seriously Good Social Skills, will run-on 5th July and focus on social media platforms, maximising audience engagement, best practice planning and creating captivating content. Attendees will learn how to create a social media strategy that delivers the right business goals and the importance of defining a set of marketing guidelines for staying on brand and on message.

Di Tunney, Communications, Media and PR Manager at The Big House, said:

“It’s fantastic that we are able to offer training courses of this calibre as part of The Big House programme. We are excited to be involved with the Digital Garage team and for any creative or digital or business wanting to develop new or refresh existing skills, this is an excellent opportunity.”

The Big House programme offers a range of different types of free business support through a range of partners, such as 1-2-1 mentoring, access to grants and workshops to creative and digital businesses at all stage of their development.
