‘Energy for Business’ scheme helps local businesses make the low-carbon leap

A project which helps local businesses that want to develop low-carbon solutions, has been awarded funding to support SMEs in the region for another three years.

Rural Businesses Growth

The rural economy in D2N2 is home to a surprising range of high tech and manufacturing businesses, including low carbon and renewable businesses as well as food & drink producers and tourism attractions and wonderful accommodation in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

Funding for rural business growth is managed by the Rural Payments Agency an executive agency, sponsored by the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

Rural Development Programme

Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE)

Funded by the European Agricultural Fund for rural development (EAFRD) the RDPE Growth Programme provided grant funding to rural businesses in areas of food processing, tourism infrastructure and business development.

Minimum project values of £35,000 or £50,000 apply, depending on the project, with intervention rates from 40%. Closed to applications 31 May 2018
