Through this support, eligible businesses can:
Get a carbon audit to understand their current carbon footprint and get advice on how to improve sustainability and reduce that impact in a quantifiable way. Recommendations can include working towards implementation of ISO14001, development of an environmental management system and legal compliance. They can also offer in-house training to staff. This will be complemented by free consultancy from final year undergraduate students at Nottingham Business School focusing on carbon reduction, and the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment focusing on improvements to premises.
Receive sustainable product design support from a team of academics and subject matter experts in their School of Art and Design. The team will perform a Life Cycle Analysis to give the carbon footprint of the product, followed by advice on designing out waste, lowering your carbon emissions and achieve greater productivity and innovation. A second Life Cycle Analysis will then be performed to provide a quantifiable reduction in related carbon emissions.
Better understand how to embed specific aspects of low-carbon and sustainable practices across your organisation with fully funded carbon reduction workshops.
Access 40% grants up to a maximum of £5,000 to support the implementation of recommendations from the above support.
Access a pool of graduate talent, free recruitment support and a 20% grant towards the cost of hiring a university graduate on a 12-month placement.
Support your new graduate hire to become a Sustainability Champion through an early career development programme, the Sustainability Community Lab. This forum is designed to equip you with the knowledge and tools to lead a sustainability project that improves practices and processes within your workplace.
