Customs Audit Healthcheck

HMRC have started their Customs audit programme in earnest and may be visiting you to carry out their checks to ensure that you are complying with Customs regulations.

These checks may include visiting your business premises to:

• Inspect goods and documents relating to customs and international trade
• Ask for information about goods or services in the international supply chain that you provide, or will provide
• Check you are complying with any customs-related approval, authorisation, registration or licence you hold or have applied for

HMRC is putting full responsibility on businesses who import and/ or export and expects full awareness and compliance with their responsibilities. In order to help you become customs audit ready we are offering a free audit healthcheck. This will be carried out by an expert consultant via a one-to-one meeting and will ensure that you are prepared with the correct documentation to ensure you are compliant with an HMRC Audit. This service is open to businesses that are in the early stages of exporting or those that are already trading internationally.

Your free customs audit healthcheck

In order to help you become customs audit ready, the Chamber are offering a free audit healthcheck. This will be carried out by an expert consultant via a one-to-one meeting and will ensure that you are prepared with the correct documentation to ensure you are compliant with an HMRC Audit. This service is open to businesses that are in the early stages of exporting or those that are already trading internationally, based in the East Midlands excluding Ashfield.

For businesses based in the Ashfield area, your free export audit service is delivered via the Global Trade Department and includes up to six hours of one-to-one advice and support from a trained consultant.
