About this event

It’s common for people to work together when developing new ideas and products. If you are asking yourself who owns the intellectual property in your business arrangements, then you are not alone – this is a common challenge for lots of businesses.

Intellectual Property collaborations can be a ‘grey-area’ that can cause difficulty in any stage of business, especially if there has been no established inventorship or ownership of IP rights from the outset. Whether you are developing products for customers or are in a partnership with a larger organisation, if you are asking yourself ‘Whose IP is it anyway?’ this webinar is for you.

Delivered by Cory Stobart, AdamsonJones

Cory joined the patent profession in 2015, and moved to Adamson Jones in 2017, before qualifying as a chartered UK patent attorney in 2019. Cory holds a Masters degree in Physics with Medical Physics from the University of Sheffield.

Cory represents a broad variety of clients, ranging from individual inventors and small start-ups all the way up to multi-national companies and overseas agents, which enables him to understand the specific needs of any individual company.

Cory prosecutes patent applications in the UK and Europe, as well as overseas. He is involved in drafting and filing oppositions and/or third-party observations against competitor’s patents or patent applications, to help clear the way for client’s innovations. He also identifies potential freedom-to-operate risks, helping clients to mitigate or navigate those risks, where possible.

Adamson Jones offers effective intellectual property (IP) services, providing considerable legal and technical expertise alongside commercially-focused advice and protection. We take the time to understand your business and the commercial potential of your innovation so that we can deliver open, practical and meaningful advice to put your business in a stronger competitive position.
