The economy has experienced a significant uptick in government support due to Covid-19 and this is likely to continue for months, if not years, to come. Furthermore, the ‘new economy’ is likely to focus even more on the wider effects of your business activity.
The session explore how to plan, measure, and communicate your social impact.
As well as making your organisation more attractive to funders, being able to measure social impact enables you to measure the effectiveness of your organisation, benchmark against your competition, and see where improvements can be made.
We start by discussing what social impact is, in order to achieve a better understanding of how and why we should measure it.
We then make a fundamental distinction between inputs, outputs, outtakes, outcome, and impact as well as introducing the idea of a social return on investment (SRoI).
The workshop then examines how to improve engagement with stakeholders: better measures of impact demonstrate the wider social impact that your business is having.
We then explore measurement and evaluation in some depth, to enable you to identify areas of strength or weakness before moving on to focus on the ‘Theory of Change’.
As well as highlighting existing tools, considering their pros and cons, you are encouraged to use your expertise to develop models that are of even greater use in your sector.
We then identify and discuss resources available to help measure impact.
The workshop ends by looking at next steps and where to get more help.
