Join us for this fully funded webinar to learn more about checks that will be undertaken by HMRC and to ensure you are complying with Customs regulations.

HMRC is putting full responsibility on businesses who import and/or export and expect full awareness and compliance with their responsibilities. They can review imports declared up to three years prior to any audit, so businesses must ensure they have the correct documentation and processes in place.

These checks may include visiting your business premises to:

  • Inspect goods and documents relating to customs and international trade
  • Ask for information about goods or services in the international supply chain that you provide, or will provide
  • Check you are complying with any customs-related approval, authorisation, registration or licence you hold or have applied for

Overview

This ‘Bite Size’ Customs Audit webinar will introduce you to the key areas that international businesses need to be aware of in order to avoid any costly mistakes.

In addition to having to reimburse Customs where underpayment has been discovered HMRC also have a Civil Penalty system which can attract penalties of between £250 and £2,500 per contravention meaning each individual type of error discovered may attract a penalty within the above range.

Being proactive ensures there are no unexpected costs, which could affect profitability, without taking the necessary preventative action, businesses are taking a risk.
