If you would like to develop the resilience of your organisation whilst accelerating the potential for future growth and productivity, then the University of Derby is here to support you.

Our brand-new Smart and Inclusive Leadership Programme (SAIL) has been designed to help small-to-medium sized enterprises (SMEs) develop the skills required to move forward with confidence during these challenging times.

A programme for managers, supervisors, recent graduates, and aspiring leaders

SAIL is intended to support supervisors, managers, and aspiring leaders of SMEs, who would like to develop their management and leadership skills. Participants will identify their unique leaderships skills and learn how to build resilience in themselves and others, so that they can create a positive impact within their organisation.

The programme is part funded by the European Social Fund and part funded the delivering partners (including the University of Derby), meaning employees can attend without any cost to their organisation. We recognise the need for flexibility when balancing learning alongside work. As such, SAIL will be offered through a blend of online learning methods and has been designed to allow participants to tailor learning to their individual needs. There are four taught units, each taking place over two days and participants can decide whether to take a single unit or complete the entire programme. Units include:

• Leadership through challenge and change
• Inclusive Leadership
• Leader as coach and mentor

To be eligible for the programme, your business must be an SME based in the Derbyshire or Nottinghamshire region.
