The Institute for Advanced Manufacturing (IfAM) is running a series of monthly breakfast events specifically for the manufacturing sector. These events are being held within the state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Building at the University of Nottingham and will also be live streamed for our audience who wish to join us virtually.

This breakfast event will detail various "pathways" by which manufacturing businesses can take incremental steps towards the digitalisation of their company. This interactive session will disseminate and discuss how the cutting-edge research conducted as part of the Connected Factories project can be applied to your businesses, and feature interactive feedback gathering to help improve the pathways with valuable insights and experience from the audience.

Pathways to digitalisation of manufacturing reflect how digitalisation and eventually the deployment of digital platforms can bring value within different kinds of manufacturing perspectives, such as factory automation, value networks or product-service development. The pathways enhance the awareness among different stakeholders about the actual and future use of digital technologies in manufacturing and facilitate the migration from legacy situations towards innovative approaches.

The event will also include a presentation from industry on how a specific business has embraced and thrived through their digitisation journey.

The agenda for the event is as follows:

7:30-8:00 - Arrival & Registration, Refreshments & Breakfast, Networking

8:00-8:30 - Pathways to Digitalisation of Manufacturing - University of Nottingham - Dr. Jack Chaplin - Senior Research Fellow

8:30-9:00 - TBC

9:00-9:30 - Networking and Close of Meeting

Free parking is available by the building, although guests will have to leave by 9:15am which is when parking charges commence. There is a Pay & Display car park a short walk from the building for attendees who wish to stay on longer.

This event is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund project Aerospace UP.
