NTU Enterprise welcomes student, graduate a local entrepreneurs from across the region to join us for an event to celebrate the work of NIYO Enterprise and highlight the opportunities for black female entrepreneurs, as NIYO founder Oyinkansola Adebayo discusses her enterprise journey with NTU and her recent success developing code and web development programmes.

About NIYO

Níyó Enterprise is a multi-faceted socio-creative organisation that prides itself in using innovative creative tools to economically empower BAME young women aged 16-25 to create phenomenal, sustainable talent-driven social enterprises.

Oyinkansola Adebayo

Aside from getting her work featured in Black Beauty & Hair Magazine, being recognized by Brandy Norwood and building up a clientele of over 200 women for the hairdressing services she provides, she is a Masters Student at University of Birmingham studying Development Economic, a young graduate of Business Management and Economics at Nottingham Business School, a past Project Management Placement Student at Rolls-Royce Group PLC, a business adviser and mentor for women , especially young women and women who are disenchanted from the society. She has an exuberant drive for excellence in all she does namely; striving to attain social equality and economic equality amongst women especially in emerging markets as well as a drive to walk in her God-given purpose.

State Aid

This event is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 2014-2020. This event is classed as State Aid to participating and eligible businesses, the value of which is up to £120, but is delivered completely free of charge to participants.

Programme

1 pm – Welcome and online lobby

1.15 pm – Introduction to the event and Oyin, what we can expect from the event today.

1.25 pm – About Oyin and NIYO – Oyin’s journey to start-up with NTU and how she has shaped and grown her enterprise

2pm – Code & web development programmes for black women – About NIYO and other opportunities.

2.30 pm – Questions and discussions with students and local enterprises

3pm – event close.
