Session overview

Working together effectively is what collaborating and influencing is all about.

Yet that can be pretty tough though, in this complex world we live and work in. It requires us to be skilled in the nuances of managing inputs, agendas and attitudes from multiple sources.

Effective collaboration requires the ability to influence others to see things differently or open up to alternative courses of action. And although we associate influence with power, you don’t need to be a leader to have power or to be able to influence others.

Organisational outcomes

  • Significant decrease in ‘silo’ mentality and increase in cross-team collaboration
  • Higher levels of empathy across the organisation
  • Employees who model effective attitudes and influence others positively as ‘champions’
  • Individual learning outcomes
  • As a result of participating in this process, attendees will learn to:
  • Raise understanding of others’ needs and styles and self awareness of potential impact on others
  • Learn ways to to communicate constructively and with empathy
  • Consider ways to bring to life their individual values in engagement with others
  • Expand their circle of influence through collaboration mapping
  • Understand how to move from transactional influence to character-based influence
