This workshop was previously called How to Plan, Build & Launch a killer Website.

Every organisation needs a website but what should it look like and how can you be sure that you have developed the right website for you?

It has never been easier to get started building a website, finishing one however can be more of a challenge. In this workshop will help you to get over the finish line with a website fit for purpose and ready to start converting visitors into customers.

  • Goals, purpose and the different types of website

  • Anatomy of a website

  • Website features and functionality

  • Customer personas, User stories and user journeys

  • Information architecture/ navigation /URL’s and links

  • Wireframing, design and user experience

  • Content planning

  • Build options and Content Management Systems

  • How to choose a freelancer or agency

  • Testing

  • Domain names, DNS settings and hosting

  • Google Analytics / Google Search Console

  • Website monitoring

  • Redirects (301s)

  • Launch day

  • Performance

  • Looking after your website

What outcomes will be achieved?

  • Understand the end-to-end process to plan, build and launch a killer website.
  • Understand what really matters, and what really doesn’t.
  • Gain confidence in making critical decisions about what to include in your website project to ensure you get the thing live and working hard for your organisation.
  • You will also leave with a practical action plan to apply in your business straight away.

Anyone looking to build a new website for their organisation or anyone looking to reimagine their current website into a marking asset that drives traffic and gains conversions.

Workshops are open to start-up and established small to medium sized enterprises located in the following local authority areas taking part in the East Midlands Chamber's Accelerator project:

Amber Valley; Ashfield; Bassetlaw; Broxtowe; Chesterfield; Derby; Derbyshire Dales; Erewash; Gedling; High Peak; Leicester City; Mansfield; Newark & Sherwood; North East Derbyshire; Nottingham; Rushcliffe; South Derbyshire.

(Please note: Businesses based in districts not participating in the Accelerator project (i.e. Bolsover; Leicestershire) are also invited to attend providing they are members of East Midlands Chamber.) Please contact Emily Gascoyne on 07741904395 who will approve your booking.
