Team performance increases by 50% when everyone feels included, but the reality is that our different personal experiences of the pandemic have created unconscious divisions.

Concerningly, research has shown that:

  • 50% think colleagues are lying about the amount of work they are doing

  • Almost 4 in 10 of those going into the workplace or working from home, would rather be doing the opposite

Looking to the future, it is crucial that these resentments are not left to fester. Unaddressed, there is a real risk that adjusting to new hybrid ways of working could reinforce existing exclusive behaviours and unconscious biases and undermine inclusion - adversely effecting both individuals and the bottom line.

This course will explore the new strains of unconscious bias highlighted by the pandemic, and focus on positive, practical actions to disrupt our thinking, build stronger relationships and improve engagement and team performance.

Who should attend this workshop?

This course is designed for managers and leaders, or those interested in developing greater team citizenship and tackling problems created by unconscious divisions. Ideal for those looking to ensure a smooth transition towards future hybrid working styles.

Please note that this workshop is open to trading SMEs based in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Businesses located outside of this area will be unable to attend and instead directed to alternative support.

What will we cover?

This course runs over two half day sessions - 22 and 29 September. It is essential that both sessions are attended.

The new unconscious bias (UB) - 29th November 2021

  • Understand what UB is and why we have it
  • Learn how experiences of the pandemic have created new divisions

Positive action for collaboration and agile working - 06th December 2021

What outcomes can you expect from joining us?

You will take away a greater awareness and understanding of how the pandemic has created unconscious divides amongst colleagues, and the impact that has. In addition, you will have a strategy outlined to increase teamwork and performance.

This is an interactive, Action Planning Online Workshop. Where possible, we would like to encourage you to join this session with your video camera turned on and when instructed by the facilitator, you may un-mute your microphone to take full advantage of the interactive nature of the workshop. For the best user experience, we recommend joining the workshop using Chrome or Firefox as your web browser.
