Through Investors in the Environment (iiE), you will understand your impact, take action, and demonstrate progress through an externally verified and credible scheme.

We break down the fundamentals of environmental management through our framework to help you:

• Develop an effective environmental policy or strategy
• Collect the relevant data to drive efficiency and prevent environmental harm
• Measure and interpret your carbon footprint
• Get staff involved and inspired
• Maximise the impact of your sustainability communication

We make it easy to get started on a journey of environmental progress that is both good for your business and the planet. With iiE, you will benchmark and celebrate your progress every step of the way to set your business apart.

Upon successful implementation of the iiE criteria, members are awarded the recognised stamp of certification.

 

What will you get?

The training is part of the Net Zero Accelerator programme, which is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund.  You will have access to:

• Exclusive access to the iiE eLearning and membership resource zone, with free templates to draft your own sustainability policies and procedures, measure resources and set targets, and engagement campaign toolkits
• One to one coaching session with an expert iiE environmental management advisor
• Free iiE membership for 1-year with the option to undertake a free iiE accreditation audit
• Marketing materials to support sharing your progress

One half-day workshop to:

• Understand your resource use and general environmental impact and use this information to draft an environmental policy
• Carry out a carbon footprint for your scope 1, 2, and 3 (optional) and understand what you can do to reduce it with our expert advice
• Come away with an action plan to achieve iiE Bronze accreditation within the year
• Enjoy business networking with your cohort of area businesses

 

Who is it for?

This support provision is for any organisation looking to build in-house skills, sustainably integrate environmental improvement, and get on a pathway to net-zero carbon emissions, with a clear focus on what to do next. It is ideal for SMEs that don’t know where to start, those looking for expert guidance, or those looking for external validation for their environmental management system. 

To participate in the Environmental Management and Accreditation businesses must be in one of the following areas:
