In the current economic climate and with customer behaviours constantly changing, marketing is now more important than ever to the survival and success of businesses.

The Digital Fundamentals course, which is part-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), has been designed specifically for SMEs and sole traders that want to grow their businesses. You will learn about the different tools available to you and how to develop engaging digital marketing content. To ensure that you manage your time and resources effectively you will also learn how to develop digital communications campaigns and how to measure the effectiveness of these campaigns.

Programme

Course dates and content

Digital Fundamentals courses will run over six sessions on consecutive Wednesdays. Four of the sessions will be online and two face to face. Each session runs from 10 am – 1 pm.

This course will run on the following dates and cover the following topics:

Session 1:
Thursday 4 November 2021

Introduction and information about the assignment

Understand the impact of digital marketing on marketing activities

Session 2:
Thursday 11 November (online)

Understand the effect of digital technology on customers

Understand the use of digital marketing tools

Session 3:
Thursday 18 November (online)

Outline the development of digital marketing content

Session 4:
Thursday 25 November (online)

Learn how to develop digital marketing communications campaigns


Session 5:
Thursday 2 December (online)

Understand how to measure digital marketing communications campaigns

Session 6:
Thursday 9 December 
(face to face session, Nottingham)

Case studies showing practical application

Review of assignment requirements

One to one coaching session to review assignment

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this module, you should be able to demonstrate the following knowledge and skills:

An understanding of the impact of digital technology on your marketing and your customers.

Knowledge of the different tools available to you and how to develop engaging digital marketing content.

Knowledge in how to develop digital communications campaigns and how to measure the effectiveness of these campaigns.

Participants will complete the course with a framework and the initial content for a digital marketing plan which they can then implement within their business.
