Does your organisation currently export products or services? Maybe it’s something you’re exploring for the future? Do you bear the responsibility for ‘dotting the i’s and crossing the T’s’ and ensuring everything is present and correct to avoid unnecessary hold-ups at port? If you do, this session will take you through all the ‘must know’ information and show you how to consistently get it right for your business.

If your organisation is engaged in exporting, getting the paperwork right can literally mean the difference between a deal going ahead smoothly and grinding to a costly standstill.

As with most regulated processes, successful and compliant exporting rests on ensuring the correct paperwork is present and accurately completed. Failing to meet the documentation standards required, will only lead to delays that most businesses can ill afford.

Hitting the mark first time, every time, when completing paperwork doesn’t have to be an arduous task. With a little know-how and guidance, it can become second nature. From Certificates of Origin and Marine Insurance Policies, to necessary contracts, this webinar will guide you through all the key documentation and show you how to prepare, complete and compile them with diligence.

Who should attend this webinar?

If you’re a business owner or manager, who is responsible for the completion of the essential international trade paperwork associated with your export activities, attending this webinar should be high on your priorities.

Please note that this webinar is open to trading SMEs based in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Businesses located outside of this area will be unable to attend and instead directed to alternative support.

What will we cover?

  • Understanding why documents are more important than the goods.
  • Getting it wrong: Case studies associated with incorrect documents.
  • Exploring the main document ‘types’: Commercial, official, transport, movement and payment.
  • Looking at who produces, why they are needed and what is done with them.
  • Getting it right: Three key elements - content, relevance and production.
  • Assessing the future and possible changes to come.

What outcomes can you expect from joining us?

After attending this webinar you’ll have a deeper understanding of how to:

  • Ensure your export paperwork always meets requirements to minimise unforeseen cost and delay.
  • Foster close co-operation with your documentation counterpart in the receiving territory.
