When used effectively, big data can create huge advantages for corporate planning, offering both consumer and commercial insights. It can help detect which customers are likely to buy particular products, adding invaluable intelligence to marketing campaigns. Understanding big data also offers insights into the wider business environment, helping identify how competitors might be gaining market share.
What will I learn?
This two-part workshop will explore the role of big data in businesses today. You will discover Microsoft Office tools and techniques that can help your organisation use data more effectively.
The first session takes place on Monday 19 July and the second on Thursday 22 July. Both sessions will take place between 10am and 12pm.
Session 1: What is big data?
Here you will explore what big data is, who needs it, and what is it used for in the world of business. You will be shown examples of big data sets and learn how these can be analysed to provide insights into a range of different topics.

In this second session you will find answers to questions such as:
There will be a number of techniques demonstrated during the workshop, and you will have the opportunity to practice with the same dataset after the session.
What does it cost to attend?
