This event is delivered through the new UpScaler project, part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund in partnership with Nottingham Business School, D2N2 Growth Hub and East Midlands Chamber.

If your company is growing at a pace that is hard to manage, the UpScaler Project could be the ideal solution. Delivered in partnership with Nottingham Business School, D2N2 Growth Hub and East Midlands Chamber this exclusive and unique programme provides specific, tailored and intense high-growth business support.

As an invitation-only scheme, UpScaler is open to a limited number of high-growth enterprises that are growing rapidly or planning to do so. Businesses that are scaling up; have the potential to scale-up; or are ambitious to grow will be considered for the programme.

Benefits of joining the UpScaler Project include access to a customised range of proven business support workshops, peer-to-peer events and a management development programme, enhanced by a grant scheme to subsidise the cost of additional support.

Who should attend?

  • Senior managers from businesses and SMES based in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire that are growing and have the potential to scale
  • Private sector and public sector service providers who would like more information and can signpost other businesses onto the D2N2 Growth Hub Upscaler project.
  • There are three eligible categories of high growth business:
    • Scale-up businesses - businesses with between 10 and 249 people, turnover between £1m- £45m and annual growth of 20%+ for the last three years.
    • Potential scale-up businesses - businesses with between 10 and 249 people, a turnover of £1m- £45m and that have achieved annual growth of 10%+ for the last three years or 20% + for the last two years.
    • Ambitious businesses – SMEs that do not fit the criteria above but can achieve some or all of the scale-up characteristics outlined below.

About the Speaker

Rob Johnson was from 2012 until June 2019 Global Purchasing Director at Jaguar Land Rover. Prior to this Rob had also held senior Procurement and Quality management roles at both Rolls-Royce PLC and Toyota Europe. His experience means that Rob can explain purchasing and supply chain priorities from a customers perspective, and give a practioners insight into strategic leadership, high performing teams, lean thinking, quality, operations and global supply chain management. Rob has extensive experience in managing transformative projects, including coaching many smaller suppliers and growth businesses working in sectors such as Automotive, Aerospace engineering and services. He has helped many suppliers management teams to improve their productivity and performance and thereby better meet the needs of their ultimate customers.

Rob joins us to share his experiences, and help you think differently about how you might even better serve both your existing and potential future customers.
