The Chamber recognises the need to continue to provide information and support to businesses of all shapes and sizes as we continue to go through this period of unprecedented economic and political change.

With this in mind, we have now arranged a new series of events, designed to assist business in preparing for Brexit.

The focus of this workshop is on Risk Management and Strategic Planning and how businesses can make sure they have the tools and relevant information to prepare and make whatever changes maybe necessary in the future. 

Risk Management and Strategic Planning

This will be a practically based workshop in which you will learn about and experience tools and techniques for working on emerging and responsive Business Strategy and taking a realistic approach to Risk in times of significant uncertainty.

The workshop will be led by representatives from the the University of Derby Business School.

In the workshop, you will be able to consider your options, share your concerns and ideas and ask questions in an interactive, open and supportive forum.

Topics likely to be covered during the workshop are :

  • Likely business risks posed by Brexit
  • Key legislation
  • Perceived challenges
  • How it can potentially impact on your business
  • Risk factors in the economic and political environment
  • The potential impact of investment and growth plans
  • Risk management

Workshop outcome

Attendees will have a clearer understanding of the latest position on the Brexit negotiations, and how these might impact on future plans. They will also be able to understand different types of risk and how to assess and mitigate these risks when targeting markets.

This series of Business Readiness for Change events are intended for business owners, operations directors, business continuity managers and strategic management professionals responsible for the medium and long-term operation of the business, or anyone in your organisation who you feel the topic matter would be beneficial to them in their role.
