We work incredibly hard to secure the best clients, the best suppliers and the best talent to make that growth possible. But how prepared are we for the changes that may result? How prepared are our teams? And is growth always a good thing?

Join us for insights into the opportunities and challenges of business growth at this free event, featuring Dr Robert Cluley from Nottingham University Business School, Dr William Green from the University of Leicester’s School of Business and Dr John Collins, Consultant, Trainer and Coach with PCA (Professional Coaching Alliance) and CMBD (The Centre for Management & Business Development Ltd).

Robert and William will share observations from their research into the growth of businesses following radical innovations. John will draw on his experience of working with over 200 organisations to enable them to innovate, grow and drive significant change. We’ll explore what we actually want for ourselves and our businesses in terms of growth and we’ll look at the impact that growth can have on the culture of a business and how to prepare for this.

The Speakers

Dr Robert Cluely
Associate Professor in Marketing, Nottingham University Business School

Robert Cluley is an Associate Professor at Nottingham University Business School. His research explores contemporary business practices. Having explored the role of creativity and data, his current research focuses on the ways that organizations use and integrate new technologies. His work in these areas has been published in leading international journals including Organization Studies, Human Relations and Marketing Theory. Having taught advertising for over a decade, he is the author of Essentials of Advertising (Kogan Page).

 

Dr William Green
Associate Professor in Innovation, Operations and Knowledge Management, School of Business, University of Leicester

Dr William Green is an Associate Professor of Innovation, Operations and Knowledge Management in the University of Leicester School of Business. He researches design and innovation management, human factors, and the role of new technology in the interface between people, technology and their environment. This research has led to recent studies of innovation and technology adoption in the healthcare and consumer research sectors, investigating the impact of new technology on practice.

 

Dr John Collins
PCA

Dr John Collins is a qualified, award-winning professional coach with over 14 years of experience. John has coached, mentored and trained hundreds of business owners, MD’s, directors and managers from manufacturing, technology, public sector and professional service organisations. He’s helped organisations to innovate, individuals taking on senior responsibilities, dysfunctional teams to be effective and organisations to change. He specialises in supporting leaders and their teams to drive significant change and growth, to choose the right actions to transform individual and organisational performance.

The Shop Window is your chance to take the floor to make a brief presentation to the room about something you are looking for help with.

From a business? Sorry, but the Shop Window isn’t the time for a “60 second pitch”. Feedback from our network members tells us that our businesses want something different from Ingenuity. But it is your opportunity to do some research of your own: request volunteers for new product or service trials, ask if anyone has any recommendations for difficult-to-find suppliers, or simply share some news that the audience might not find out about otherwise.

From the University? If you have a business-facing project or want to work with local small and medium-sized businesses as part of your research, this is your opportunity to make contact with business owners. Our network members are already interested in what happens at the University and may be interested in participating with your initiative.
