Impacting Business By Design

Businesses will also have the chance to learn more about Research England's Impacting Business by Design (IBbD) initiative between Nottingham Trent University, De Montfort University and Brunel University.

IBbD is a new initiative aiming to bring lasting improvements to UK businesses by improving their ability to successfully design, develop and commercialise new products. Design Academics and in-house design staff at De Montfort University, Nottingham Trent University and Brunel University along with industry partners have created a core team of leading designers to work alongside small and medium sized businesses to help bring new products to the market.

IBbD aims to encourage and reduce the business risks of technically challenging design projects by operating on a 'no win, no fee' basis, using a 'repayable advance' model. For example, IBbD only charges fees when the new product generates four times the value of the design support in revenue.
