Developing Your Networking Skills and Elevator Pitch

Host: D2N2 Growth Hub
Venue: Derbyshire County Cricket Club, The Pattonair County Ground, Nottingham Road, Derby, DE21 6DA
Date: Tuesday 7th May, 2019
Time: 9am - 12.30pm
Cost: Free

This workshop is hosted by the D2N2 Growth Hub and is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

Have you ever got stuck in a boring conversation? Or hung back on introducing yourself to strangers only to find you have an awkward silence shortly after meeting someone? Or not known what to say, how to relate or how to escape?

Have you ever been asked to do a 60 second sales pitch about you and your business and felt lost for words or have rambled on and not really got your point across?

In today’s fast pace and competitive marketplace, you need to get your message across quickly and in a way that makes you memorable (for all the right reasons) and encourage people to learn more about you and your business.

In this interactive session you will discover how to chat and network with confidence and skill - even with strangers. Introduce yourself confidently, keep the conversation flowing, connect with people and exit with ease. And then stay in touch after the event and build a strong network of profitable contacts - easily.

This dynamic, practical workshop will teach you how to communicate your elevator pitch with ease and make it memorable for you and the people in the room.

This Workshop is ideal for someone who:

  • Wants to improve their networking skills and have a killer elevator pitch
  • Goes networking but feels awkward and shy.
  • Holds back from introducing themselves to people.
  • Gets stuck with people and doesn't know how to escape.
  • Has to represent their firm or organisation at networking and social events.
  • Attends conferences, seminars or other interactive forums

About the Speaker - Lindsey Newman-Wood

The session is run by Lindsey Newman-Wood from Passion Marketing who strives to make all her workshops engaging, fun and full of hints and tips to take away and use in your business right now. The event also offers an opportunity to network with other businesses attending.

This event is part-funded via the European Regional Development Fund, therefore we are required to evidence that you are a small to medium enterprise.

There will be a couple of forms that will need to be completed either prior to the event or on the day and these will be sent to you once you have registered. One form is to ensure you are a small to medium enterprise, the second is to capture any business support you have received over the last 3 years to ensure you haven’t exceeded €200,000. If you have previously completed these forms at a Growth Hub event you will not have to complete another set.
