An introduction to the benefits of the BRC (British Retail Consortium) Standard and how your business can identify and implement changes to obtain/continue to obtain the requirements.

This half day workshop is being delivered by The Food and Drink Forum’s technical team and will provide an introduction to the benefits of the BRC Standard and how your business can identify and implement changes to obtain/continue to obtain the requirements.

The BRC Global Standards for Food Safety provides a framework to manage product safety, integrity, legality, quality and the operational controls for these criteria in the following industry sectors -
• Food & drink manufacturing/packing
• Food & drink storage/distribution
• Food packaging manufacturing
• Food & drink agents & brokers

Aim

To introduce delegates to the BRC Global Standards for Food Safety and how achieving this standard can benefit their business.

Objectives

Delegates will be able to:

Understand the key areas of the BRC Standard

Understand the benefits of implementing the standard within food businesses

Understand the processes involved in implementing the standard within a food business

· Businesses/ Individuals who are looking at achieving the BRC Standard for their business.
· Individuals in BRC Standard businesses who are not currently involved in its implementation.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this course, you must meet the small business eligiblity criteria, set out in the booking form.

You must have a food or drink manufacturing business based in Derbyshire or Nottinghamshire

You must employ less than 250 employees

You must have an annual turnover of less than €50million, and an annual balance sheet of less than €43million

You must be predominantly operating Business-to-Business (B2B)
