Rural Community Awards Now Open

The Plunkett Foundation is welcoming applications for this year’s annual awards celebrating achievements of rural community businesses in tackling rural issues.

Energy for Business Drop-in Session

Cost: Free

Planning an energy related project or need to purchase new equipment to grow your business? You can apply for 50% of the cost from the ‘Energy for Business’ capital grant fund. Successful applicants can receive up to £10k (maximum project cost of £20k). 

This capital grant is for businesses who wish to improve energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions or who are implementing sustainable energy technologies. To be successful, businesses must be classified as SME, based in the D2N2 region (Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire) and be able to demonstrate a low-carbon element to their project.

The closing date for the new round of funding is 12/09/2018 and recipients will be chosen by an independent panel.

The drop-in sessions will take place in the Research Acceleration and Demonstration (RAD) building on the University of Nottingham’s Jubilee Campus. The postcode is NG7 2TU. The building has not yet been assigned a number, but can be seen close to the Jubilee Conference Centre, number 50, on this map.

Public transport

We encourage visitors to use public transport. You can access lots of information about the different means of travelling to the University by public transport here.


There are 3 pay and display car parks for visitors, marked PD on the map.

Please allow plenty of time to park and make sure that you park in designated visitor space and display a ticket, otherwise there is a risk of a fine.
