Learn the winning mindset from Gold Medal winning Paralympian, Richard Whitehead MBE, at Venturefest

Venturefest East Midlands is delighted to announce that they’ll be joined by Gold Medal winning Paralympian Richard Whitehead MBE at this year’s event. Richard will be discussing how a winning mindset can further your business as well as joining a Futuresport session looking at innovation to drive growth in the sports industry.

Richard Whitehead

Richard Whitehead won Gold in the 200m at last year’s Paralympics in Rio and also holds the world record for athletes with a double amputation in both the full and half marathon. In 2013 he completed 40 marathons in 40 days and at 40 years old hasn’t ruled out competing at the Tokyo Games in 2020.

A truly inspirational athlete, Richard will be at Venturefest East Midlands with his sport management company 19eleven, which focuses on the individual’s self development and mentality for career longevity, skills which can be put to excellent use in the workplace.

Richard commented, “Having the winning mindset is something that is key to success in both sport and business and I’m really looking forward to sharing my story and meeting some truly innovative businesses at Venturefest East Midlands.”

Richard’s session on the Main Stage will also consider futuresport and innovation to drive growth in the sports industry, where he’ll be joined by an expert from University of Derby.

Lily Davis, the Project Manager for Venturefest East Midlands 2017, from global communications agency Holland Alexander said, “We are delighted to be working with Richard Whitehead, in developing an innovative key speaker session titled “creating a winning mindset” at the third Venturefest East Midlands. Success in business and sport have so many parallels, and Richard, being a gold medal Paralympian, and who is at the top of their game will be hugely inspiring to our audience. This will certainly be one session that delegates cannot afford to miss.”
