The Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) Growth Programme has opened a new call under the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) worth £35 million.
The new home for local businesses, start-ups, students, graduates and local entrepreneurs. Nottingham Trent University are opening a dynamic and innovative centre for both entrepreneurs and growing enterprises that want to work and co-locate with them.
The Catalysing Growth Through Research (GTR) for Transport Equipment Manufacturing(TEM) project is a partnership between the University of Derby’s Institute for Innovation in Sustainable Engineering (IISE) and The iNet @ Loughborough University (iNet). It will deliver a programme of intensive research and innovation support to SMEs engaged in transport equipment manufacturing product and process technologies and associated supply chains. GTR is part funded through European Regional Development Fund.
GTR are now seeking Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) led projects from any technology, engineering or industrial area within TEM involving a collaboration with at least one UK-based HEI/Research Institute. The project may involve more than one SME but SMEs must be based in the D2N2 area in order to receive funding. HEI/Research Institutions can be based within or outside the area.
The TEM sector includes several key sub-sectors (Aerospace, Automotive, Marine, Rail and Motorsport), infrastructure and related enabling technologies (e.g. systems, security, materials, production methods etc.). Experience has shown that collaborative projects can build upon inter-sector needs and opportunities, as well as the needs of each sub-sector.
Eligible R&D projects may address any challenges pertinent to the TEM sector without restrictions. Projects may cover (but are not limited to) the following:
The collaborative project can last from 6 months (feasibility studies) up to 2 years, or any suitable time period in between.
Applications are invited from all sizes of projects. The grant available will be dependent on the number of applications and size of projects, anticipated maximum grant of around £82k (being 40% of total eligible expenditure).
A call for proposals is now live and applications must be submitted by Noon, Wednesday 28 September 2016.
