‘Energy for Business’ scheme helps local businesses make the low-carbon leap

A project which helps local businesses that want to develop low-carbon solutions, has been awarded funding to support SMEs in the region for another three years.

Biomass - renewable heat solutions, challenges & opportunities for all

There is an event being run by Employer First in conjunction with EcoFuels on 21st May 2015. This Vision 2050 Networking Event is an excellent opportunity to network with other employers and also to hear from industry experts about expanding the market and demand for renewable heat solutions.

Who are the organisers?

Employer First is a not-for-profit company offering impartial support and brokerage services to Low Carbon SMEs looking to train their people and recruit skilled staff to support business growth. As a business membership organisation, Employer First offers a comprehensive package of business support, enabling the low carbon sector to grow and become more productive. The UK government also sponsors them to develop new skills solutions under the Employer Ownership of skills programme, including reforming apprenticeship standards.

EcoFuels is a leading manufacturer and supplier of wood fuel and biomass boilers.

Who should attend?

The Low Carbon Goods and Services sector includes a range of businesses that produce any goods or services that have smaller adverse environmental impacts than similar products. They also conduct activities in such a way that they preserve or restore environmental quality. If you fit into this sector or are a business that would be part of the supply chain within this sector its worth you attending.

The benefits of attending the event

All Employer First Networking events provide attendees with the chance to make new business connections in a friendly environment. There are a wide range of speakers which will help you to gain a better understanding of the sector.

The presentations include:

  • A view of the current state of the market. Is industry well placed to meet current and future demand for renewable heating solutions?
  • Biomass as part of the renewable energy mix – supporting customers to make the right decisions.
  • Where to next? Quality and performance in the renewable energy sector and the role of our people in achieving this goal.
