The Business Growth grant of up to £2500 is available to established businesses who produce a viable growth plan that will encourage job creation and have been registered as trading in the district of Ashfield or Mansfield for at least six months

Ashfield and Mansfield Business Rate Relief

Ashfield and Mansfield District Council areas

Ashfield and Mansfield District Councils will award up to £1,000 of discretionary rate relief in 2015-16 to occupied retail premises with restrictions on eligibility

Ashfield and Mansfield Business Start Up grant

Mansfield and Ashfield District Councils are offering a grant of up to £1,000 to individuals in the area who are looking to start a business. 

Ashfield and Mansfield Shop Front Improvement Grant

Ashfield and Mansfield District Council areas

The shop front improvement grant will provide up to £2500 to independent retailers already occupying premises having a ground floor and street-facing frontage, who wish to make alterations or repairs to their shop front. 

Ashfield and Mansfield Vacant Shops Grant

Ashfield and Mansfield District Council areas

The vacant shops grant is open to independent retailers taking occupation of a retail property. A grant of up to a maximum of £2500 per property is available

Bassetlaw Enterprise Grant


Can offer a single grant payment of up to £2,000 to people who wish to set-up a commercially viable small business within the Bassetlaw District area; and small businesses within the area in the first two years of trading.

Grants for small voluntary and community organisations with a turnover of less than £300,000 towards projects that help people take steps towards a future career

Creative Quarter Loan Fund

Nottingham City

Targetted at Creative and Digital Industry (CDI) businesses based in Nottingham City Council’s local authority boundary but also open to any business based in, or relocating to, a now slightly extended Creative Quarter Loan Fund area in the centre of Nottingham which includes Hockley, the Lace Market, Sneinton Market and Pennyfoot Street and some surrounding areas

D2 Enterprise Growth Fund


Capital grants for businesses across Derby and Derbyshire to support a maximum of 30% of total project costs and £10,000 per new full-time equivalent job created.  

D2N2 Capital Growth Fund

Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire

Capital grant support for businesses ranging from £1,500 to £10,000 up to a maximum of 30% of eligible project costs

D2N2 Growing Places Fund

Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire

Loans to individual companies or organisations are now being offered of between £250,000 and £2million to finance capital (building and infrastructure) investment, resulting in business growth and job creation.

N2 Energy Grant Fund


Support for small and medium sized businesses in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire to reduce energy use and CO2 emissions

NBV Grant for Enterprise

Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire

Grants of between £1000 and £2500 are available up to a maximum of 25% of eligible costs for the growth or diversification of existing micro, small and medium sized businesses based in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

Nottingham Creative Quarter Loan Fund

Nottingham City

The Creative Quarter Loan Fund provides loans from £500 to £25,000 at a preferential rate to both new start-ups and existing businesses based within the Creative Quarter.

The £40 million Foresight Nottingham Fund is a dedicated regional growth fund that has been created to support small and medium sized companies in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire seeking to make investments between £100,000 and £2 million

Rural Community Energy Fund

Specific council areas

Though a national scheme managed by WRAP, the fund is only available in certain rural communities in England which include the local authority areas of Bassetlaw, Derbyshire Dales, High peak, Newark & Sherwood, North East Derbyshire, and Rushcliffe.

Rushcliffe Shop Front Improvement Grant

The shop front improvement grant will provide up to £5,000 to businesses improving their frontage in the town centre areas of Bingham, West Bridgford (including Melton Rd), East Leake and Radcliffe.

StayAhead offers grant funding to SME’s to access training solutions for their existing workforce. Individuals must work in one of five target sectors: construction, creative and digital industries, health and social care, low carbon or transport equipment manufacturing.
