Adrian has been formally involved in business support for a decade, including time spent at Business Link, Sheffield Chamber, NBV and operating as an independent consultant. Before this he had a number of roles in financial services, including a significant amount of time with AXA Sun Life, where he was responsible for agency business development.
He has a strong background in sales and harnessing technology.
Adrian holds the ILM Level 5 Diploma in Business Support. He's worked with a wide range of businesses from manufacturing to creative, consultancy to trades and is a friendly inquisitive problem solver with a focus on finding practical solutions.
Account Manager - B-Global
Alfred has been involved in Business Support for over 20 years with a decade spent as Business Adviser for Business Link and the rest operating as an independent consultant. He's dedicated, reliable and results driven with a successful background in the achievement of profitable business growth through business diagnosis/ reviews leading to the implementation of action plans for growth.
Experienced in setting up new businesses and working with SMEs with primary focus on exceeding expectations for customer service delivery while ensuring optimum impact.
Alfred holds a BA Hons in Business Administration and Marketing, The Chartered Institute of Marketing Post Graduate Diploma (DIPM) and the Institute of Leadership & Management Level 5 Diploma in Business Support.
Assistant Business Adviser
Alison has worked in business support for almost two decades. During this time, she has helped local companies access funding, locate commercial premises and generally improve their businesses. Working across North Nottinghamshire, she has worked with businesses of all sizes in a variety of different sectors, adding value and providing excellent customer service. Alison also has first-hand experience of inward investment, strategy development, event management, managing websites and other communication channels.
Alison holds a business degree and an ILM Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management. Furthermore, working locally for a number of years, she is well-connected, with a keen eye for detail and strong improvement drive.
Business Growth Team Manager
Anthony has supported hundreds of businesses for over 15 years, focusing on Creative, Digital and Tech. Leading the Nottingham City Council team of the D2N2 Growth Hub, he is a fully qualified marketer with a Masters Degree with distinction in Marketing and the Chartered Institute of Marketing postgraduate level 6 qualification.
He also has a creative background and an additional masters degree in television, film and radio scriptwriting.
Anthony works with businesses to identify the key challenges they have to grow and assist businesses by cutting through the noise to ensure they access the many areas of business support to grow their businesses.
Events and Engagement Officer
Bryony has a degree in Politics and Communication Studies, and has been working in events across various sectors for the past 4 years.
Working as the Events and Engagement Officer for the D2N2 Growth Hub, she oversees events across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. She works closely with local authorities in the area, arranging business surgeries, events and their other involvements with the Growth Hub.
Prior to joining the Growth Hub’s adviser team, Cheryl spent over 25 years within Commercial Banking, managing and supporting businesses ranging from ambitious start-ups, to companies turning over multi million pounds.
Cheryl’s skills and knowledge spans across most business sectors, she has a distinction in the Chartered Banker’s Diploma in Lending Skills, she also has in-depth, practical experience in Business Planning, Risk Analysis, Financial planning and forecasting. Cheryl is passionate in helping businesses to achieve their ambitions, and supports businesses throughout Derbyshire.
D2N2 Growth Hub Manager
Chris leads the D2N2 Growth Hub team and works closely with the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership, delivery partners and other key stakeholders to ensure the service is effective in delivering its primary aim: to support local businesses.
He is responsible for the D2N2 Growth Hub project delivering its targets associated with the European funding, and reporting progress to funders and the Project Board.
Chris maintains links with Government departments and other Growth Hubs across the country to understand best practices and evolve the D2N2 Growth Hub as a valuable resource for supporting business growth in the local economy.
Dawn is an experienced business adviser with well-developed, comprehensive banking knowledge. She offers a client centred approach to provide you with honest, no-nonsense, kind and constructive support. By asking challenging questions with her critical friend approach she encourages business owners to take the steps needed to develop and grow their business.
Dawn is a practical generalist, who has a wealth of experience supporting both start-ups and established businesses to develop and grow. She can relate business theory to the day-to-day running of your business and with her sound banking and financial background she has the expertise to assist business owners in understanding their business planning and financial needs.
Emily started at the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce as a Business Administration Apprentice, completing her Business Administration Level 2 and 3 and after 7 years with the Chamber she have been in varied ERDF funded roles and supported different projects, including the D2N2 Growth Hub.
Digital Marketing Specialist
Emma has over 8 years experience in copywriting, proofreading, digital marketing and SEO in varied public and private sector roles. She also has a degree in English Language and wanted to make it her aim to use her English knowledge somewhere other than the classroom.
She supports and creates marketing campaigns for the D2N2 Growth Hub, enabling businesses, local authorities and partnerships to get involved with local events, as well as publicising local partner events within the D2N2 network.
Emma also works closely with the EMC marketing department, LLEP, Skills Access Hub and many more, in order to allign campaigns across the D2N2 region.
Events and Engagement Officer
Hannah has been involved with events across various sectors over the last 3 years.
Working as the Event and Engagement Officer for the D2N2 Growth Hub, she oversees events across Derby, Derbyshire. She works closely with local authorities in the area, arranging business surgeries, events and their other involvements with the Growth Hub.
Heather is a highly-skilled business professional with over 35 years experience from running businesses and supporting small and medium sized companies to grow and develop.
A practical generalist, with an in-depth knowledge of business issues and challenges. Heather works closely with both start-ups and established businesses. She has a good working knowledge of funding streams to support business development.
Frontline Growth Hub Adviser Manager
Helen has worked within organisations providing information to businesses for over 30 years.
During this time, Helen has built up a working knowledge of business development support services and funding schemes locally and nationally. She has used this knowledge to help all types and sizes of business, from pre-starts to multinational companies, to access the support they need quickly and effectively.
Insan has worked in business support and consultancy for 15 years. In that time, he's worked with start-ups and large companies, across many industry sectors. His business support career started with Business Link and continued with other support organisations.
After University, Insan’s IT career began when he started as a Programmer, progressing to Director of Technical Services. He worked with several businesses in the UK, Europe and had a 3-year stint in the USA.
With his experience of setting up two businesses and managing a family business, Insan’s well placed to help and support SMEs by identifying their challenges and ambitions, developing business reviews and action plans, all with a view to help facilitate positive change to the business.
Frontline Growth Hub Adviser
Jodey has spent eight years building up her knowledge of business development support services and funding schemes, both local and national.
This has enabled her to provide relevant information to support businesses, from pre-starts to large business in an effective and timely manner.
Business Finance Manager
John has worked in business consultancy and advice for over 10 years following a corporate career in hospitality, working in Marketing and Operational Management for the Rank group, Tom Cobleigh and Marstons.
He has spent time in commercial finance working with SME Invoice Finance and has successfully helped businesses to raise funds through debt and equity routes. He's owned businesses himself and understands the challenges that businesses can face.
Marketing and Events Manager
Kayleigh is the Marketing and Events Manager for the D2N2 Growth Hub and is responsible for the organisation and promotion of all Growth Hub events. Kayleigh is responsible for all Growth Hub marketing activity to ensure that the D2N2 Growth Hub can reach as many businesses as possible with the Growth Hub services. This role involves building relationships and working closely with partners and local authorities in order to market the Growth Hub service to SME's across the D2N2 regions.
Kayleigh has worked in marketing for over 10 years and has experience in various business sectors. She holds a marketing degree and is CIM qualified.
Working across D2N2, Lisa is responsible for championing and engaging the D2N2 Growth Hub with key partners and local authorities to ensure that businesses have access to the full range of opportunities and support available to them.
She works closely with all D2N2 local authorities, delivery partners and support providers to ensure there is collaborative working and strategic planning within the region which is matched to individual business needs.
Business Adviser Manager
Mark is an experienced company director and business consultant who brings a wide breadth of interdisciplinary skills and European Funding experiences. He is a future thinker with the ability to innovate and understands the market and business challenges facing growth hub clients.
Mark has worked as a business adviser for organisations such as the Prince’s Trust and Chambers of Commerce in Stockport and Manchester, as well as a variety of local Councils. He is a practical generalist, with 25 years of experience of running and advising businesses.
D2N2 Growth Hub ScaleUp Adviser
Paul is employed by the East Midlands Chamber as a business adviser working on the D2N2 UpScaler Project. He is passionate about supporting both existing and ambitious Scale Up businesses to develop and implement their strategies for growth.
With over 23 years of technical and sales experience gained within the pharmaceutical and chemical industry, Paul has worked for the last 12 years supporting a diverse range of local SME's in Nottinghamshire.
He has previously worked advising businesses under various ERDF funded contracts including Business Link, NBV Start-Up and Regional Growth Fund programmes and D2N2 Growth Hub.
Paul studied Chemistry at Trent Polytechnic (Nottingham Trent University) and is currently completing an Executive MBA. He also holds a Level 5 Diploma in Business Support from the Institute of Leadership and Management.
Head of Scale Up Service
Paul started his own business in 2005 with support through the Business Link. 4 years later he sold his business and joined Business Link as part of their advisory team in Leicestershire. Paul joined the East Midlands Chamber in June 2017 working within the D2N2 Growth Hub team before moving to the regions UpScaler programme, supporting high growth and growth ambitious businesses. His passion and experience is in business planning, creating strategies which have seen them grow and thrive. Paul now leads the newly created East Midlands Chamber Scale Up Services team, including programmes that support business innovation, internationalisation, strategy development and technology adoption.
Pauls combines this leadership role with his work as one of the Chamber’s Innovate UK EDGE advisers supporting Scaling SME’s, still part of his DNA.
Head of Enterprise
Paul is the East Midlands Chamber’s Head of Enterprise, responsible for the delivery of its enterprise and business support products and services across the East Midlands.
Paul has worked in business support for over 20 years and is experienced in delivering ERDF contracts. He is responsible for the Chamber's publicly funded enterprise contracts, including ERDF and other funded contracts. This includes managing the ERDF funded D2N2 Growth Hub project, the LLEP Business Gateway project, and the Chamber’s LLEP Collaborate Project.
Pauline is a Unilever graduate and has worked in supporting small businesses for many years. She has had marketing jobs with building societies previously, which included fending off a hostile takeover bid. After this she joined the University of Derby. It was in this role that she linked with businesses, voluntarily mentored students and gained an MBA.
She joined Connect Derby in 2014, helped to launch it and gave free business support to its 200 tenants who were also offered business support as part of their managed office space package. This naturally led to becoming the D2N2 Business Support adviser for Derby.
Initially working in the Logistics sector as a consultant, Richard moved into Business support, working as a Business Adviser for Business Link Nottinghamshire, EMB Ltd, NBV Ltd and Pinnacle People. Delivering European and Council funded projects for over twenty years. Supporting both start-up and existing SMEs.
Richard is an experienced company Director and Business owner, with experience across various sectors including house building, food production and retail.
Richard has worked with the Erewash Partnership since January 2017, providing business advice to small businesses and start-ups. Prior to this he ran his own business consultancy company. Richard spent most of his professional career as an international business executive, at Director and Senior Management level, within British Aerospace, Rolls-Royce and Airborne Systems.
Richard hold a BSc in Production Engineering from Aston University and an MBA from Cranfield University. Richard has held various directorships and is currently a Trustee/ Director of Ambient Support. He has a special interest in social enterprises and not for profit organisations.
Sarah has over 20 years experience within Education, Training & Recruitment, providing SME’s and Large organisations nationally with support on executing strategies in emerging talent, as well as how to upskill their workforce through Apprenticeship and Training initiatives.
She holds a BA (Hons) degree in Leadership & Management and has experience of providing coaching and mentoring support especially to businesses in the Engineering, Manufacturing, Sport, R&D and Public Sectors, bringing with her a wide variety of skills to Growth Hub clients. Whether it’s access to finance, skills and operations, guidance on the latest legislation or practical business support.
Account Manager – Life Sciences/ Food & Drinks
Sheridan has a broad range of experience across the private, public and voluntary sectors. He has over eight years’ experience working with businesses across D2N2 to understand their core business and skill needs.
With a degree in Business and Technology and a Masters in Environmental Management, he has also represented Nottingham through the Nottingham Roosevelt Scholarship, and the British Council’s Challenge Europe Climate Change and UK/China: Exchange of Future Leaders programme.
Sheridan will be supporting businesses within the Life Sciences and Food & Drinks sectors.
BAME Business Adviser
Sonny started his career working in the family business and went on to work for various learning, development and training consultancies as a business development manager and coach. This gave him a good grounding to understand the depth of challenges that companies face, enabling him to alleviate these challenges.
Having worked in the corporate & private sector for 20+ years; assisting businesses to grow, Sonny changed his focus to charities and social enterprises. Sonny is also studying a coaching diploma level 7 and business analysis level 5.
As a Business Adviser focussing on BAME businesses for the Growth Hub, Sonny will engage with and champion BAME businesses and communities. Coming from a similar background, he acknowledges the huge potential these communities and individuals have and how they contribute to their own and the wider community.
