Food glorious food – and how to sell it overseas

Once cast as Europe’s poor relation in the food stakes (steaks?!), the UK now enjoys a global reputation for the quality both of its produce and its food production. Media stars such as Jamie Oliver and Heston Blumenthal, as well as legions of hugely enthusiastic amateurs (think Bake Off), have ensured that the UK is front and centre stage when overseas companies look to source food and drink.

So, how is the Department of International Trade (DIT) helping to ensure that UK food and drink companies make the most of the demand?

Our free of charge Food Labelling workshop in Kegworth on 28th September aims to bring you clear guidance and best practice on this extremely important topic, with the help of translation agency, Talking Heads, and international law firm, Hogan Lovells.

In October, Midlands Engine and DIT will be leading a delegation of Midlands Engine companies to the Anuga Trade Fairin Cologne. As well as visiting the exhibition, delegates will receive a comprehensive review of the German food and drink sector as well as accompanied store visits.
