Rural Business Growth and Support

The rural economy in D2N2 is home to a surprising range of high tech and manufacturing businesses, including low carbon and renewable businesses as well as food & drink producers and tourism attractions and wonderful accommodation in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

Funding for rural business growth is managed by the Rural Payments Agency an executive agency, sponsored by the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

Rural Development Programme

Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE)

Funded by the European Agricultural Fund for rural development (EAFRD) the RDPE Growth Programme invites applications for grant funding from rural businesses in areas of food processing, tourism infrastructure and business development.

Minimum project values of £35,000 or £50,000 apply, depending on the project, with intervention rates from 40%. Deadline 31 January 2018.

LEADER

You can apply to your Local Action Group (LAG) for funding for projects that create jobs, help your business to grow, and benefit the rural economy, under the LEADER scheme. LEADER funding is delivered via LEADER LAGs and is available to local businesses, communities, farmers, foresters and land managers.

LEADER programmes are currently available in parts of rural Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
